Katy Hintzen

Katy Hintzen is an Extension Agent with the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program and the Heʻeia NERR Coastal Training Program Coordinator. She is also the Associate Director for the Center of Excellence in Integrated Knowledge Systems. Hintzen has worked in community outreach and engagement for eight years including five years in University Extension programs. Hintzen holds an M.S. in Environmental Policy and Planning from the University of Michigan.Together with the non-profit Kuaʻāina Ulu ʻAuamo, she is involved in developing and implementing the kūlana noiʻi, a process wherein researchers build and sustain equitable partnerships with community.
